One thing I love is seeing a remotely original, very vague project announced. I’m talking the very bare details. Give me a studio and a tagline and I’m intrigued. Granted more often then not we’re left utterly disappointed with such projects… But hey, a guy can hope can’t he?!

It’s with that in mind that I come here today to tell you all about SCHOOL OF HORRORS, a new haunted school flick coming at us from Paramount. Don’t worry folks, it’s not an adaptation of the ‘Goosebumps’ book “The Haunted School.” It just felt appropriate to use that picture. Anyway…

According to Deadline, SCHOOL OF HORRORS is coming at us from the British writing/directing team of George Kay and Jim Field Smith, who most recently brought us the remotely entertaining comedy SHE’S OUT OF MY LEAGUE. I wonder if that right there should give us an idea of what we’re in store for…

Described as HOME ALONE in [Harry Potter’s] Hogwarts, the synopsis for SCHOOL OF HORRORS goes a little something like this: A schoolboy’s parents go on holiday, abandoning him in a haunted school.

Intriguing, no? SCHOOL OF HORRORS is geared to start shooting sometime next year. It’ll probably be a while before we hear anything else on this one but as soon as something comes across our screens we’ll be sure to pass it along to all of you!

Haunted schools mean haunted school girls right?
