This past weekend held the 82nd Annual Academy Awards (go HURT LOCKER!) which means there was a chance to confirm all kinds of juicy movie bits via the event’s Red Carept. So what did we learn? Well Amanda Seyfried will be starring in THE GIRL WITH THE RED RIDING HOOD, Keanu Reeves says we might see a BILL & TED sequel and Neill Blomkamp wants to do DISTRICT 10! Unfortunately it might be a ways away…

MTV caught up with the director of the Academy Award nominated DSITRICT 9 on this year’s Red Carpet and asked him how far along he was with DISTRICT 10:

“Not that far. I’m working on another sci-fi film, but I want to make the sequel. I’m just doing something else now.”

Alright well that sucks. Or does it? Blomkamp kicked some major ass with DISTRICT 9 so any flick from the man is more than welcomed… But we do want to see DISTRICT 10! Check out the whole video interview below. Actually we knew about Blomkamp’s next sci-fi adventure since October so hopefully things will pick up soon. At least it was good to hear Blomkamp confirming that he does indeed want to tackle a sequel to DISTRICT 9 soon! Keep it here for all things DISTRICT 10 and Neill Blomkamp as we hear them!
