Last week we were all left in emotional turmoil after the news broke that the [REC] 3 site is a fake, as is the Facebook page. Word was that there were no immediate plans to begin preparing a third entry, although some – like myself – predicted it was only a matter of time before it became a reality.
Dread Central is now reporting that indeed it is about to become a reality; the site attended a recent screening of the film where directors Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza were on hand to answer questions, and sure enough spoke a bit about continuing the franchise. Apparently, the filmmakers and production company Filmax are actively discussing [REC] 3, and will begin work on it once Balagueró finishes the movie he’s currently making, the English-language thriller FLATMATE.
Balagueró revealed that one potential scenario for the film is leaving the apartment building behind… meaning unleashing those demon-possessed wackos upon the general population! Read more over at Dread.
