It’s been a while since I hit you all with an update on genre collectibles so I’ve decided to throw a few together for you all today. First up we’ve got an update coming from Rob Zombie’s MySpace Blog that there’s going to be a line of figures released to tie in with his animated feature THE HAUNTED WORLD OF EL SUPERBEASTO.
We don’t have many details right now aside from a couple pictures. If the back of the packaging on “Suzi-X” is any indication though we can expect figures depicting Sheri Moon Zombie’s “Suzi-X,” Tom Papa’s “El Superbeasto,” Paul Giamatti’s “Dr. Satan,” Rosario Dawson’s “Velvet Von Black” and Brian Posehn’s “Murray The Robot.” Right now we’ve only got examples of “Suzi-X” and “El Superbeasto” but we’ll keep an eye out for the others as well as exact details on this series.
Next up we’ve got a new line of figures heading our way from NECA featuring characters from Shane Acker’s 9. I’ll let the release from NECA give the details: To celebrate the Sept. 9 release of the movie, NECA has a new line of figures, beginning with 1 (a good place to start) and 9. Each figure comes with ball-jointed necks, wrists and ankles, as well as bendable wire arms. We’re not saying you can use them to make your own stop-motion animation films, but if that were to happen and you sent us a link, that might rule. Just saying.
Above and below you’ll find pictures depicting Elijah Wood’s “9” and Christopher Plummer’s “1,” the first two characters in the series. After checking out the pictures you can head right over to EntertainementEarth to pre-order the whole series for a hefty price tag of $114. Hopefully we’ll see shots for the other figures in the series soon.
And the last update today isn’t really news but an updated look at some of the figures we’ve told you about in the past. All these shots come from those groovy dudes over at Dread Central, who were able to take these pictures at this year’s Comic Con. They’ve got a whole gallery of Mezco figures you can check out just by clicking on any of the shots below.
First up we’ve got our first look at the actual figures for “Jason Voorhees” and “Freddy Krueger” from the Mez-Itz line. Then we’ve got some shots for new figures of “Freddy Krueger” for the “Cinema of Fear” line including a 12-Inch figure as well as the “Stylized” version. That’s followed by a cool looking “Leatherface” figure for Mezco’s next series of their 7 inch “Cinema of Fear” line and a Mez-Itz of HALLOWEEN 2’s “Michael Myers.” We’ve got a couple more HALLOWEEN 2 “Michael Myers” figures after that, the first showing “Michael” in his questionable ‘hobo’ attire with hood and torn mask and the second featuring some ‘classic’ “Myers” except still with the bloodied mask. All good in my book. We’ve got even more “Myers” after that in “Living Dead Doll” form along with a “Living Dead Doll” for “SAW’s Jigsaw Puppet.” And lastly we’ve got some new looks at the “Wolfman” figures we told you about a while ago. Why would someone pick up the un-bloodied “Wolfman” when they can score the bloody one? Beats me. You can read up on the details for some of these figures by clicking through on the links above.
