In the ocean of genre flicks that have come our way in the past decade I think it’s safe to say one franchise hasn’t disappointed: FINAL DESTINATION. Now I say it hasn’t been disappointing because it seems most genre fans dig the trilogy. Don’t get me wrong… There’s not much of a plot going on and the acting isn’t exactly groundbreaking… so why do us genre fans love these movies so much?
Why the death scenes of course! The FINAL DESTINATION death scenes are usually gory, violent and shocking. If you’re going to watch somebody die in a horror flick isn’t that exactly what you want? From what we’ve seen so far the fourth film in the franchise, THE FINAL DESTINATION, looks to be just as awesome as… or maybe even exceed… the other films.
We haven’t seen many updates from the movie in the past few weeks but that changes today! It seems Haley Webb fansite HaleyWebb.net found an international one sheet for THE FINAL DESTINATION and it’s looking pretty awesome! Now maybe it’s not as great as the teaser poster but I’m still digging it. The poster comes from France and sure it’s kind of got that whole ‘stars-standing-in-a-row’ thing going on that make most one-sheets boring… but you got to love the mirror image that sports the characters with skulls replacing those determined expressions! Huge thanks to Stanley Thai for giving us the heads up on this one!
The movie stars Krista Allen (below), Nick Zano, Mykelti Williamson, Shantel VanSanten, Bobby Campo, Haley Webb, Andrew Fiscella and Billy Slaughter. THE FINAL DESTINATION comes from director David R. Ellis and features Death stalking a group of kids who survived a race-car crash on this go-around thanks to one of them having a premonition. Nothing new there but this thing is looking pretty damn cool! Might it actually give HALLOWEEN 2 a run for it’s money come August 28th? I’m thinking it’ll be pretty damn close!
