Sometimes there’s a movie title that immediately catches your attention and just doesn’t let go. I’m talking stuff like LESBIAN VAMPIRE KILLERS, ZOMBIE STRIPPERS and DONKEY PUNCH. Well in the same category as these flicks comes BAD GIRLS!
You see what I mean? You’re already signed up aren’t you? I don’t blame you. I was too. Now let me tell you about this one! BAD GIRLS is based on a novel by Alex McAulay, who’ll also be adapting the script according to The Hollywood Reporter. It is about a wild teenager shipped off to a reform school on a remote Caribbean island. Upon her arrival, she and the other girls find themselves facing a series of violent threats from drug dealers and killers as they battle their own worst impulses. It’s described as LORD OF THE FLIES meets HEATHERS. Now that’s pretty f*cked up.
The good word today has Inferno Entertainment picking this one up! They scored the film from MTV Films, who had BAD GIRLS tied up since 2007 in the form of THE LOST GIRLS. At that time Holly Brix was in line to adapt the script. Well it seems MTV and Brix are out while Inferno and McAulay are now in! Who better to adapt a novel into a script than the novel’s author? I’m always down for news like that! We’ll be keeping an eye on BAD GIRLS and updating you all once we hear more!
