Almost all genre fans out there dug Neil Marshall’s THE DESCENT. It’s like a given. Now I’m sorry… and perhaps I should be boiled in a tub of hot oil… but I just thought the thing was ok. Better than most of the stuff we’re forced to endure… but not orgasmic. Just because my jaw didn’t hit the floor when I saw the flick doesn’t mean I don’t think it’s a cool film and that Neil Marshall is a genius. The man knows what he’s doing.
Having said all that… let me get to some DESCENT 2 news… which Marshall is not directing. Yeah.. you read that right. Marshall’s DESCENT blows up in our genre and they can’t even score the guy to direct the sequel… but don’t worry to much folks.. Marshall is set to produce! It’ll be his first producing gig actually and DESCENT editor Jon Harris will be directing… so maybe this one will resemble the first film a bit more than we thought?
Anyway I’m here tonight to bring you the brand new poster for the flick! Mind you it’s not a very flattering look at the one sheet but you can check it out above. This comes from over at Film4 Frightfest and I’ve got to be honest… it’s not doing anything for me. I don’t know if it’s just because I can’t make out the details or if the poster is just…. not good. What says you guys? No word on a release date in the US yet but we’ll keep you updated.
