Spawn vs DiCaprio

Back in April Eric hit you all with the news that a brand new SPAWN flick might very well be heading our way soon. The good news on that is that SPAWN creator Todd McFarlane has been getting offers for a SPAWN movie left and right and that he wants to make one that’s scary and creepy. Basically the way it should be!

Now you want to hear some even better news?? According to MTV McFarlane wants non-other than actor extraordinaire Leonardo DiCaprio on the case! But here’s the catch… He doesn’t want DiCaprio playing Spawn. Nope. Come on now… why hide that pretty face? Instead McFarlane wants DiCaprio to play a detective tracking down Spawn. And here’s another kicker… apparently Spawn won’t be the main character in this new film but this detective will be!

McFarlane goes on to explain the film will be more of a character movie instead of a big comic book special effects flick. He compares it to such classics as JAWS, THE GODFATHER, and THE DEPARTED. It’s actually quite interesting what the man has to say. Read on right over here and keep it here for SPAWN updates as we hear them.
