Nazi Undead v Jesus?

Here’s an interesting story today coming in from SlashFilm. Now granted…. there’s a 99.9% chance this story is utter bullsh*t but I couldn’t help myself. It seems Peter Jackson is, in fact, looking to someday return to the genre.

Yes, you heard me right. DEAD ALIVE’s Peter Jackson may be stepping back into our beloved genre. Well probably not considering the man is making trillions of dollars chasing Hobbits around New Zealand. But SlashFilm dropped an interesting news bit today that had screenwriter Stephen Fry talking about a possible Jackson project.

Fry had penned Jackon’s upcoming flick DAMBUSTERS and recently told a popular British radio show that Jackson and his wife Fran Walsh are working on something pretty intriguing:

Fran [Walsh], who is PJ’s wife and writes with him, they’ve come up with this idea called The Christ Must Die in which Nazi zombies go back in time to stop Jesus from being born.

Apparently this stems from there being a huge unused set of Jerusalem in New Zealand. In an update Jackson’s manager Ken Kamins told Entertainement Weekly the following: “It sounds like an April Fool’s joke. Peter and Fran are working diligently on The Hobbit for the foreseeable future.” So what do you think? As much as I want it to be true… I have a feeling Jackson would want to tackle something a bit more original than Nazi Zombies for his promised return to the genre.

Rachel Weisz’ is starring in Jackson’s THE LOVELY BONES.
