Just the other day I told you how IFC Films scored the US distribution rights for THE APPEARED. Well those willy bastards are at it again!

This time IFC Films are tackling PONTYPOOL. PONTYPOOL comes from director Bruce McDonald and writer Tony Burgess. Here’s the synopsis: The flick is set in a radio station in Pontypool where one day the morning team starts taking reports of extreme, bloody incidents of violence occurring in town. As the story unfolds, the radio staff soon realizes the violence that is ripping society apart is due to a virus being spread through the English language. That in turn poses a problem for a yappy radio jock and his staff holed up in the broadcast booth housed in the basement of the town’s abandoned church as a slaughter rages beyond its walls. That actually sounds… awesome! The flick stars Stephen McHattie, Lisa Houle, Georgina Reilly (below), Hrant Alianak, and Rick Roberts.

IFC are planning on releasing PONTYPOOL on May 29th. I think it’s safe to assume this release will be a limited run ending on IFC’s on demand service. You can go ahead and scope out the trailer for PONTYPOOL in our videos section, or by clicking through below. We’ll be keeping an eye on this one and will update you all once we hear more.
