It’s no secret that I’m a fan of slashers. I like all slashers. Classic slashers from the 80s, great slashers from the 90s, even some cheesy slashers of recent years… but I’m going to go ahead and raise MIDNIGHT MOVIE up a bit with my expectations.
Everything I’ve seen so far from MIDNIGHT MOVIE has be stoked for this flick! It’s got a simple premise, a great setting, an awesome somewhat backstory, and a vicious looking killer. It doesn’t seem to take itself too seriously but doesn’t try to be a comedy either… oh I’m hoping MIDNIGHT MOVIE scores big!
And we won’t have to wait long to find out! MIDNIGHT MOVIE is geared up to hit DVD shelves everywhere next week on January 6th! And to celebrate director Jack Messitt dropped us a handful of awesome stills! Just gander at that beautiful bastard above then scroll down to check out the rest.
Messitt directed MIDNIGHT MOVIE and penned the script with Mark Garbett. It stars Rebekah Brandes, Daniel Bonjour, Greg Cirulnick, Stan Ellsworth, and Mandell Maughan. Here’s the simple, yet genius premise: A midnight showing of an early 1970’s horror movie turns to chaos when the Killer from the movie comes out of the film to attack those in the theater.
So mark it on your calenders folks, January 6th! We’ll hopefully be getting some more looks at MIDNIGHT MOVIE before it’s release, so keep it here!
