MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3-D is quickly approaching and dare I say it might actually be pretty good? It’s no secret that remakes have caught a bad rap… hell horror movies in general have been getting a bad rap for a few years now, but within the past couple years we’ve actually seen horror movies that actually make us take notice.
And the buzz around this remake is all good so far. Your wondering what I’m talking about, well the movie has already been tagged with an R rating for “graphic, brutal horror violence and grisly images throughout, some strong sexuality, graphic nudity and language.” I’m already in line to buy a ticket! Add on that I loved the original and that this flick will be in 3-D and I’m completely sold. Here’s hoping it doesn’t totally suck.
Well today we got a look at the newest poster for the movie. This particular poster is pretty… interesting. Very interesting actually. You can
see it above. It seems they’ve almost entirely abandoned any actual horror on the poster and completely banked on the 3-D factor. The 3-D pick axe is pretty cool. What’d you say? If you see this poster at the theater are you gearing up for a vicious slasher or something else entirely?
Here’s the MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3-D synopsis: Tom returns to his hometown on the tenth anniversary of the Valentine’s night massacre that claimed the lives of 22 people. Instead of a homecoming, however, Tom finds himself suspected of committing the murders, and it seems like his old flame (King) is the only one will believes he’s innocent. It comes from director Patrick Lussier with Todd Farmer and Zane Smith penning the script. It stars Jensen Ackles, Jaime King (below), Kerr Smith, Edi Gathegi, and Andrew Larson.
Now here’s an interesting tidbit I just came across… at first the release date for the movie was set for February 13, 2009. Then considering two other horror flicks were pegged for that day, one of which is FRIDAY THE 13TH, the release was bumped forward to January 16. Now IMDB claims that the release date has been placed on Valentine’s Day itself, February 14, a Saturday. That would obviously make sense, but we all know how accurate IMDB is. So we’ll await some confirmation on this, keep it here for any updates.
