Well THE WOLF MAN is well into production and it’s been quite a while since we’ve heard anything coming from the WOLF MAN camp. Lucky for us the guys over at STYD have changed that.

They scored a bunch of low-res shots of some new WOLF MAN banners and posters while at Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights. You can get a shot of one above, just click through to check out four other posters, plus bigger shots of all of them.

So what do you think? I’m definately digging them! Looks like they’re going with the simple mystery behind THE WOLF MAN. Nice and dark, yet enough class to keep it above just another genre flick. These posters actually remind me a bit of the ones for FREDDY VS JASON, that might just be the colors though.

Here’s a nice detailed synopsis: Lawrence Talbot, a haunted nobleman, is lured back to his family estate after his brother vanishes. Reunited with his estranged father, Talbot sets out to find his brother… and discovers a horrifying destiny for himself. Talbot’s childhood ended the night his mother died. After he left the sleepy Victorian hamlet of Blackmoor, he spent decades recovering and trying to forget. But when his brother’s fiancée, Gwen Conliffe, tracks him down to help find her missing love, Talbot returns home to join the search. He learns that something with brute strength and insatiable bloodlust has been killing the villagers, and that a suspicious Scotland Yard inspector named Aberline has come to investigate.

The remake comes from director Joe Johnston with the talented Andrew Kevin Walker behind the script. David Self worked on a rewrite. THE WOLF MAN stars Benicio Del Toro as the titular hairy bugger along with Emily Blunt (below), Anthony Hopkins, and Hugo Weaving. THE WOLF MAN is 6 months away, looking at an April 2009 release. High res shots of these posters should be up soon, so keep it here for updates!
