As I’m sure most of you know, there’s currently a CHILDREN OF THE CORN remake in the works to premiere on the Sci-Fi Channel. We last talked about it over here with a couple casting updates.
Today we got another one via ShockTillYouDrop. Apparently the main role of Malachai has gone to Daniel Newman (right).
Newman just finished CIRQUE DU FREAK with production on CORN starting this week. CHILDREN OF THE CORN comes from director Donald Borcher and stars Newman, David Anders, and Kandyse McClure (below).
Here’s the synopsis for the original: A boy preacher named Isaac goes to a town in Nebraska called Gatlin and gets all the children to murder every adult in town. A young couple have a murder to report and they go to the nearest town (Gatlin) to seek help but the town seems deserted. They are soon trapped in Gatlin with little chance of getting out alive.
CHILDREN OF THE CORN is set to hit Sci-Fi sometime in 2009.
