Alright, well contrary to the report that’s been surfing the net that the potentially great indie horror flick TRICK R TREAT was indeed back in the hands of Warner Brothers… it seems Warner has, in fact, abandoned the film.
The guys over at Dread Central seem to have dug and dug and poked the right people to finally get an official confirmation that Warner Bros. are 100% NOT releasing TRICK R TREAT.
Well that sucks. I suppose we’re back to pondering who’ll pick up distribution for TREAT since it’s now back on the table apparently. What is with these horror flicks lately? These small little movies that look awesome yet seem to have loads of trouble getting out there… yet films like ALIENS VS PREDATOR: REQUIEM get wide releases… uncomprehendable right?
If your hearing about TRICK R TREAT for the first time and your wondering if it seems as awesome as I’m making it out to be, here’s the synopsis: Four interwoven stories that occur on Halloween: An everyday high school principal has a secret life as a serial killer; a college virgin might have just met the one guy for her; a group of teenagers pull a mean prank; a woman who loathes the night has to contend with her holiday-obsessed husband.
And that synopsis undoubtedly involves that twisted little bastard above… and your telling me you wouldn’t rather see that than Alien fight Predator yet again? Exactly. Plus it stars Lauren Lee Smith, Moneca Delain, Leslie Bibb (below), and Anna Paquin! Hopefully we’ll get some positive news on Mike Dougherty’s TRICK R TREAT soon.
