Way back in June Mike told us all about a flick called TORMENTED. The flick is about a a bullied teen who gets his revenge! The full synopsis reads: Darren Mullet was a bullied asthmatic, driven to suicide by his tormented life – ignored by his parents, ridiculed by his teachers and bullied at school. However, he returns from the dead to pay his teenage tormentors a final visit.
Now my gut feeling was to be stoked for this flick… but the more I think about it the more it seems like nothing new. Flicks like TAMARA and URBAN LEGENDS: BLOODY MARY already touched this idea, except with a female lead. Hell, even MY BOYFRIEND’S BACK followed the same theme except with a comedy spin. Plus… Variety stress the fact that they’re pushing this as a ‘teen horror.’ When I hear that I think of stuff like PROM NIGHT. Which obviously means PG-13. A revenge flick rated PG-13? Ouch.
Well regardless of what we can expect with this flick, Variety are dropping a bunch of info as to who’s directing and starring in this ‘teen horror.’ Jon Wright has been pegged to direct with a script from Stephen Prentice. It stars Alex Pettyfer (above), April Pearson (below), Larissa Wilson, Mary Nighy, and Dimitri Loenidas.
We’ll keep an eye on this one and hope for the best.
