$1 Meat Train?

So what the hell is going on with MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN? What once was geared to be a pretty badass original horror flick is now being dragged around by Lionsgate.

Last month Mike gave us all an update on MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN, dropping word that Lionsgate was planning on releasing it in a limited capacity after delaying it month after month.

Well now comes the truly f*cked up news from ShockTillYouDrop. Apparently Lionsgate have decided that not only are they releasing MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN to a limited amount of theaters… but those theaters will be bargain theaters! That’s right. Those little theaters with one, MAYBE two screens where you can catch the semi-new flicks for a buck or two. This is what has come of MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN.

But how? AITH/JoBlo’s Chris Bumbray dug the shit out of it! As did MANY other genre fans around the country. So why oh why has Lionsgate gone all stingy on us? According to STYD, Lionsgate recently had a meeting with Mr. Clive Barker regarding this situation. You see, Mr. Barker is all for MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN (seeing how it’s based on his short story), and he actually listens to us fans, so he’s fighting hard for it. Apparently Lionsgate didn’t like what he had to say and after the sour meeting… this happens.

According to MovieTickets.com, MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN is actually scheduled to come out TOMORROW in a limited release. After ‘researching’ a bit, I found that not one theater in the BOSTON area will be playing MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN according to MovieTickets.com… As in BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS… one of the busiest cities in the country… now THAT’S limited. Then again maybe the theaters MEAT TRAIN is set to hit are so ‘bargain’ that they aren’t even connected to MovieTickets.com. Either way, good luck finding a showing in your area folks…

So it looks like most of us won’t be seeing Vinnie Jones chase around Leslie Bibb (below) with a meat mallet anytime soon. Here’s hoping we have an amazing DVD to look forward too…
