I’ve made it no secret that I’m a fan of anything involving the hitman profession. Usually a hitman is a cold, ruthless bastard who kills people for money… how is that not an interesting profession? So whenever there’s a movie made involving a hitman, I take notice.
Well today The Hollywood Reporter dropped word on a comic and film project involving a hitman. Actually… it’s about a hitman who kills hitmen.
The yet-to-be released comic is called BILLY SMOKE and is about an elite hit-man who is nearly killed during a botched job. He realizes that his only way to find redemption is to rid the world of all assassins.
The comic comes from Oni Press and Warner Brothers just picked up the rights to make it into a film. They’re hoping to get Matthew Fox (above) to star.
The BILLY SMOKE comic was written by B. Clay Moore and illustrated by Eric Kim. It’s looking to hit shelves in 2009. Moore’s no stranger to having his work picked up by Hollywood either, his comic LEADING MAN is currently being developed at Universal with his comic HAWAIIAN DICK over at New Line.
Now I haven’t seen much from Matthew Fox… actually I don’t think I’ve seen anything from the man. But he’s got the look of an elite assassin, so I’m down. We’ll keep you updated once we hear more.
The absolutely gorgeous Olga Kurylenko was in a movie… about a hitman… or something…
