It looks like Sony has gone ahead and released the first poster for their [REC] remake titled QUARANTINE.
Now I’ve expressed my love for simple one sheets many times, but this poster for just doesn’t cut it.
Don’t get me wrong… I think they’ve got a good idea here and they’re going along with the theme. It gets the job done. I’m just not a fan. It looks like something a 13 year old did with photoshop. I am digging the logo though. I’m digging the long tagline too: On March 11, 2008 the government sealed off an apartment complex in Los Angeles. The residents were never seen again. No details. No witnesses. No evidence. Until now.
Now I haven’t seen [REC] yet, but I’m hearing nothing but positive things, so I’m definately planning on checking that out. In the same sense, I highly doubt QUARANTINE will live up to the high regards for [REC], but here’s hoping they try their damndest!
QUARANTINE comes from a screenplay by Drew and John Erick Dowdle with John Erick also directing. It stars Jennifer Carpenter (below), Columbus Short, Johnathon Scharch, and Jay Hernandez. Some QUARANTINE viral videos have already been making the rounds on the net for a while now, and with ComicCon quickly approaching I can only assume we’ve got a lot more QUARANTINE stuff headed our way, so we’ll keep you updated.
