Earlier this month I showed you all the mediocre poster to the unnecessary sequel with the unoriginal plot. I’m talking about S. DARKO of course.
I’m a big fan of Richard Kelly, and an even bigger fan of DONNIE DARKO. Hell I’m the only person I know who loved SOUTHLAND TALES. So in my opinion, this sequel, which has none of the crew from the original attached – aside from Daveigh Chase, is just not a good thing. But even with that said… I can still appreciate the news coming from The Hollywood Reporter today.
THR dropped the news on another name joining the cast of S. DARKO. This name belongs to a female who’s been gorgeous for years, and stills continues being very good looking. I’m talking about Elizabeth Berkley.
Yeah, Elizabeth Berkley has signed on for S. DARKO. Berkley is probably most known for being Star Hottie #2 in SAVED BY THE BELL. Or maybe making a movie by the name of SHOWGIRLS, at least she was nearly naked for half the flick.
S. DARKO picks up seven years after the first film (and Donnie’s death) when little sister Samantha Darko and her best friend Corey are now 18 and on a roadtrip to Los Angeles when they are plagued by bizarre visions. Berkley (above) is set to play a speed freak-turned-Jesus freak whose sentiments about ridding the world of its exponential sin are rivaled only by her infatuation with her dreamy pastor.
Daveigh Chase is coming back to reprise her role as Donnie’s little sister Samantha. The film is directed by Chris Fisher and also stars Ed Westwick, Briana Evigan, and Justin Chatwin.
Looks like Berkley will be Hottie #2 once again behind Evigan (below)… but hey, I’m not complaining. Maybe the duo will be reason enough for me to check out this flick…. maybe. (And by maybe, I mean no.)
