There’s this little horror flick I’m hearing about for the first time today called DARK MOON RISING.

It’s got a pretty sweet looking plot with a decent cast. Here’s how the synopsis reads: Amy is a small-town girl whose life is redefined when she falls in love with Dan, a mysterious drifter who brings with him a family curse and unimaginable horror. Things seem to be all sunshine and roses for our couple until Dan’s father Bender shows up to raise a little, or in this case, a lot of hell in the normally quiet town.

Sounds like a groovy time right? Sure, it all depends on how it’s done, but we can hope. I’m getting all this info from the guys over at Dread Central, who dropped word that genre regular Sid Haig has signed on.

Here’s what Haig (above) had to say about the project:

“I’m really anxious to get started on this film, for a lot of reasons. There are some people in the cast that I have always wanted to work with. The story is solid, smart, passionate and cleverly constructed. And for once, I’m on the receiving end of the mayhem, which gives me an opportunity to stretch my legs in a new direction.”

So Haig will be playing a good guy huh? I’m definately game for DARK MOON RISING thus far. Color me stoked even. The film also stars Maria Conchita Alonso (below), Chris Mulkey and Billy Drago. It’s written and directed by Dana Mennie with principal photography ending next month.
