You know, it’s pretty easy to find a good horror video game. Fact is, a lot of the games out there are actually much scarier than 90% of the flicks that we see nowadays. Now even though I’ve never played it, CLOCK TOWER seems to be one of those video games.
There’s been talk of bringing CLOCK TOWER to the screen for a while now, our last update on it was actually back in October 06! So needless to say this one has been on and off the shelf.
Well that’s taken a dramatic change according to Variety! Apparently Senator Entertainement has signed on to produce a CLOCK TOWER movie, putting it on the fast track!
They’ve already got a director in Martin Weisz, who was the man that brought us THE HILLS HAVE EYES 2. They’ve got BORDERLAND writer Eric Poppen to pen the script with Senator CEO Marco Weber producing alongside production head Vanessa Coifman.
The CLOCK TOWER movie will be taking different elements from all the video games, but the story will center on the premise of CLOCK TOWER 2: THE STRUGGLE WITHIN, which was about a girl who finds herself committed to an insane asylum and haunted by a horror she does not understand.
The Weinstein Company are handling international rights with Tim Kwok, Nicole Rocklin, Wendy Rhoades, Capcom’s Haruhiro Tsujimoto, and Mayhem Project’s Anthony Mosawi and Brad Luff all executive producing.
