Yesterday we gave you not one, but two stories on the FRIDAY THE 13TH remake/reimagining. First Ammon told you about a bunch of names to join the project, then hours later Mike told you about some effects news for the slasher.
So I figured, why break the trend? I’m bringing you some more casting news, this time coming from Dread Central. Those guys are dropping word that Nick Mennell is the latest name to step in front of Jason’s machete.
Mennell (right) is no stranger to getting hacked by a genre god either. He played Bob Simms in the HALLOWEEN remake, Mr. Simms of course being the guy Michael Myers scores the stylish sheet and glasses from.
Sure, this isn’t HUGE news… but any news on FRIDAY THE 13TH seems noteworthy, plus it gives me a chance to throw up another picture of Willa Ford (below).
Mennell joins the growing cast that includes Ford, Jared Padalecki, Amanda Righetti, Danielle Panabaker, Aaron Yoo, Travis Van Winkle, and the man that will be doning the hockey mask for this go around – Derek Mears. Marcus Nispel is bringing us this remake from a script by Mark Swift and Damien Shannon.
