We’ve been keeping you updated on the Guillermo del Toro produced flick SPLICE for some time now. The last update coming over here.
Well today Variety have some more news for us. Senator Entertainement have just scored some rights to SPLICE. Those being distribution rights in North America, Germany, and Spain.
In case you haven’t heard anything about SPLICE, it revolves around two scientists who undertake illegal genetic experiments and create a new species fusing human and animal DNA. As the pair become global celebrities, the consequences of their accomplishment begin to become apparent.
It’s described as a sci-fi thriller with Vincenzo Natali writing and directing. A while ago a batch of pretty freaky pics were released. Some twisted stuff like a chick with a tail and a baby with two half heads or something. Really gears up for a twisted flick.
Along with del Toro, Senator’s Marco Weber and Don Murphy are executive producing with Copperheart Entertainment’s Steve Hoban producing.
SPLICE stars Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley (below). Everything thus far is pointing to a flick definately worth checking out. It’s aiming for release sometime in 2009.
