With this slow news morning/night comes another comic book/graphic novel-to-movie news bit.
This one comes from Ain’t It Cool News. Apparently Matthew Vaughn will be tackling KICK-ASS next, the graphic novel from Mark Millar and John Romita Jr.
You may know Millar as the guy behind the WANTED comic, and as I’m sure you know, WANTED was recently made into a blockbuster film starring Angelina Jolie, Morgan Freeman, and James McAvoy set to hit theaters June 27.
KICK-ASS follows a 15 year old boy who becomes a real-life superhero, despite having no superpowers or any of the stereotypical reasons for choosing to fight crime.
According to AICN, Vaughn will be writing and directing the adaptation, fellow STARDUST writer Jane Goldman is also working on the script. KICK-ASS is only two issues in right now, so I’m sure there’s more on the way. To find out more about the comic, you can head to it’s official MySpace.
