Watchmen wrapped

The last we told you about WATCHMEN, I showed you some stills from the flick. That was back in early December.

We finally have another update, this one coming from the official website. It’s a blog update from the man himself, Mr. Zack Snyder. What’s the post about you ask? Well it’s about the film wrapping! You can read up on that over here.

I’d say that’s some rather noteworthy news, although Snyder does state there’s going to be a lot of work in the post-production, we’re now one step closer to seeing WATCHMEN hit the big screen.

Along with the update came a ‘hot’ new still, which can be seen above. Hot. Get it? Because the fire…? It’s late. Click the pic above to check out a larger shot.

Anyway, the simple synopsis for WATCHMEN reads: When an ex-superhero is murdered, a vigilante named Rorshach begins an investigation into the murder, which begins to lead to a much more terrifying conclusion. Zack Snyder is directing with David Hayter and Alex Tse penning the script based off of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ graphic novel. The cast includes Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Malin Akerman (below), Carla Gugino, Billy Crudup, Patrick Wilson, Matthew Goode, with Jackie Earle Haley as Rorschach.

Now four months ago I’d never even heard of WATCHMEN, but with Malin Akerman on there, how can this not be on everyone’s most anticipated list? WATCHMEN is slated for release over a year away, on March 6, 2009.

The extremely gorgeous Malin Akerman… I’m in love.
