We’ve been keeping you updated on Dario Argento’s GIALLO since it was announced. Recently it was picked up by The Weinstein Company and the gorgeous Elsa Pataky joined the cast.
Well the news coming in today via the NY Daily News is actually some reverse casting news. Apparently star Vincent Gallo (right) has left the project, stating:
“After they cast Asia Argento, I’ve been trying to get out of it. I’d rather not be in a movie with her. I’m not a fan. I was a fan of her father’s. I’m retiring.”
What you may not know is that Gallo and Asia Argento (below) have a past, being they were engaged to be married at one point. Apparently the relationship ended badly.
So your asking yourself what the hell is going on right? Well our man Eric dropped one of GIALLO’s writers, Sean Keller, a line. He asked what the dealio was yo. Keller’s response?
“No comment on the casting rumors. Sorry.”
We’ll definately be keeping an eye on this and we’ll update you on whether Gallo decides to stick with the project or if they sign someone else.
The synopsis is: The picture star(red?) Vincent Gallo in the lead role of a serial killer, with Ray Liotta playing the detective who has long been tracking him. The plot revolves around the snatching of a fashion model (Elsa Pataky) just as her flight attendant sister (Asia Argento) jets to Milan to meet her on a shoot.
Who in their right mind would not want to work with Asia Argento?
