Craven’s next

As a big fan of Wes Craven, I’m excited to hear this little tidbit via Bloody-Disgusting.

Apparently they’ve gotten word on Craven’s next project. A film called 25/8. It’s coming from Midnight Pictures and has Craven writing and directing.

According to BD, the synopsis reads: a notorious serial slayer will return to the sleepy community of Riverdale to finish off the seven children born on the night he purportedly died. But is the slayer really dead, or is he still at large? Or has the mysterious evil personality that once impelled his bloody spree entered the body of an unwary teen, who will now be compelled to do his evil bidding?

Sure, it’s a slasher, and Craven has done the whole slasher thing… but SCREAM was awesome, so nothing wrong with that. And with Craven behind that plot, I’m stoked!

Filming will begin in Connecticut soon. To my knowledge there’s been no casting news yet, so we’ll keep you updated on that.

The absolutely beautiful Rachel McAdams starred in Craven’s last feature RED EYE.
