Last week was a big week for HELL RIDE. Ammon showed you all the awesome poster for the flick (right) and I pointed out a couple stills that we had yet to report on.

Well with HELL RIDE showing at Sundance this past weekend to a sold out crowd, the news continues! STYD talked to both Michael Madsen and Larry Bishop about the flick… and some potential sequels? Mind you, some could-be-spoilers as to who lives and dies in HELL RIDE lie ahead, so you’ve been forwarned. Madsen had the following to say:

“I hope this is going to be a trilogy. [Madsen’s character] The Gent’s story has not been completely told.”

When STYD brought this comment to writer/director/star Larry Bishop’s attention and asked him what the chances were, he simply responded with: “Absolutely.”

That works fine for me. HELL RIDE’s synopsis reads: A raucous throwback to the days of the Sergio Leone spaghetti western, with a heaping helping of testosterone-fueled chopper action thrown into the mix, writer/director Larry Bishop takes on a third role as Pistolero, head honcho of the Victors, a group of badass bikers who are out to avenge the murder of one of their members at the hands of the 666ers, a rival gang whose actions live up to their hellish moniker. Along with his cohorts, the Gent (deviously portrayed by Michael Madsen) and the mysterious Comanche (Eric Balfour), Pistolero aims to take down the Deuce and Billy Wings, menacing leaders of the 666ers, but a mutiny looms on the horizon when his commitment to profit is questioned by a few of his fellow Victors. An even larger story unravels when previously unknown information about Comanche resurrects ghosts from Pistolero’s past.

As I stated, Larry Bishop scores a hat trick with writing, directing, and starring in the flick. Other cast includes Michael Madsen, Dennis Hopper, Vinnie Jones, Eric Balfour, Kanin J. Howell, Michael Beach, Cassandra Hepburn, Leonor Varela (below), Laura Cayouette, and Theresa Alexandria. Plus, HELL RIDE is presented by Quentin Tarantino.

So Tarantino is attached to a flick with an amazing cast about revenge, badass bikers, and loads of action. WILD HOGS meets KILL BILL. I don’t see a single downfall here.

There’s bound to be lots more news on HELL RIDE soon, so we’ll keep you updated.
