A month ago there was a rumor floating around that Emily Blunt had been approached to star opposite Benicio Del Toro in THE WOLFMAN.
Though it was a very solid rumor, it’s been officially confirmed by Emily Blunt herself this past weekend via Cinemablend.
“I’m about to do a kind of horror-drama with Benicio Del Toro and Anthony Hopkins called The Wolf Man. That’s a period piece.”
Sounds good to me. Emily Blunt is great and only adds to the already great cast. That already great cast only consists of two thus far, Benicio Del Toro and Anthony Hopkins. WOLFMAN was written by Andrew Kevin Walker and directed by Mark Romanek.
The simple synopsis reads: Upon his return to his ancestral homeland, an American man (Del Toro) is bitten, and subsequently cursed by, a werewolf.
THE WOLFMAN joins FRIDAY THE 13TH and MY BLOODY VALENTINE in a short list of horror flicks already announced for February 2009. And interestingly enough… they’re all opening the same day… the day before Valentine’s Day. Friday the 13th. That’s just brilliant. Talk about a memorable V-Day.
