Calm down people. Just take a breath and relax. I said ANAMORPH, with an “A”, not ANIMORPH. There’s no plans for a feature film based on those books where high school kids turn into animals and fight bad guys. At least not yet.
No, I’m talking about ANAMORPH, the psychological thriller from Henry Miller. The flick follows a couple of detectives tracking a killer who re-creates the perspective-distorting painting technique “anamorphosis” in a bizarre series of murders. Anamorphosis is a painting technique that manipulates the laws of perspective to create two competing images on a single canvas.
O..k… I’m always down for something completely out of left field. Sign me up. ANAMORPH was directed by Henry Miller and written by Miller and Tom Phelan. It stars Willem Dafoe, Scott Speedman (above), Peter Stormare, and genre regular Clea DuVall.
The news coming in from The Hollywood Reporter is that IFC Films have just scored North American rights to ANAMORPH. Groovy. It’s looking at a release this November.
