Diary in May?

You know, just yesterday Ammon told you all about the brand spanking new trailer for DIARY OF THE DEAD. He compared it to the other ‘handheld camera variety’ movies hitting us recently like CLOVERFIELD, [REC], and THE POUGHKEEPSIE TAPES. I have to agree with him that these things are becoming way too popular… but then again each one seems pretty damn exciting. I don’t know if it’s the handheld camera thing or just the plots behind the flicks, but each film is getting some majorly positive buzz. As is DIARY.

After checking out the trailer, like Ammon said, DIARY doesn’t look like anything groundbreaking. But it’s Romero at his roots, so I’m definatelty down. And it does look like it’s going to have it’s moments.

Unfortunately we’re going to have to wait a lot longer to see Romero’s latest. Fearnet is dropping the word that the release date has been pushed back again. Instead of February, we’ll be seeing DIARY in MAY! Oh yeah, May! In case your wondering, that’s 4 months later. That’s pretty harsh for a flick people have been looking forward to for months now.

Nothing left to do but sit back and wait. So DIARY OF THE DEAD will be hitting theaters (fingers crossed) May 20, 2008.
