While scouring the net for stories today, I came across a Turkish film that caught my eye. As some might have noticed, I’ve been keeping tab on the Turkish film MUSALLAT. And after watching the trailer for this one, I’m beginning to think those fine people over in Turkey know a thing or two about horror.
The film I’m talking about is titled SEMUM and a synopsis I found explains it as: Terrifying islamic myths and legends get together with a true story! Sometimes demon of the hells and Jinns come to real world! This time they have a good reason!
So my understanding is it’s loosely based on a true story and was inspired by H.P. Lovecraft. Sounds good. The film is written and directed by Hasan Karacadag, who scored some positive buzz thanks to his previous film D@BBE. I’ve never heard of it, but from what I’m hearing it’s something to check out.
