AITH’s own Quigles recently hit up the set of the Gerard Butler starring GAME. He also scored an interview with the chiseled action star. After reading up on all of that, I’m officially stoked for GAME.
I’ve always been a fan of flicks that involve virtual reality games and the like. EXISTENZ is one of my favorite films. And everything I’m hearing for GAME are all in the pro column. A couple months ago Eric told you all how the genius Michael C. Hall had joined the cast. Now we’ve got some more casting news for you via /Film.
According to /Film, Milo Ventimiglia (above) has joined the cast as a very interesting futuristic character that’s not necessarily in control of himself. Sounds intriguing. Now GAME is written and directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, the same guys who brought us CRANK and have CRANK 2 and the Milo Ventimiglia starring PATHOLOGY (which they wrote, not directed) coming our way. As you’ll know if you’ve been following the site, I’ve been looking forward to PATHOLOGY, which keeps getting kicked around in regards to a release date. And I definately dug CRANK, so it looks like Neveldine and Taylor are doing things right in my eyes.
That just makes me stoked for GAME that much more. Ventimiglia describes his character as “kind of a bad guy.” Interesting. Well the plot for the flick is: Set in a future-world where humans can control other humans in mass-scale, multi-player online gaming environments, a star player (Butler) from a game called “Slayers” looks to regain his independence while taking down the game’s mastermind (Hall).
As I mentioned, it’s written and directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor. It stars Gerard Butler, Michael C. Hall, Milo Ventimiglia, Alison Lohman (below), John Leguizamo, Zoe Bell, Terry Crews, Kyra Sedgwick, Amber Valletta, and Ludacris. It’s slated for a 2009 release.
