This is the first I’m hearing about WIZARD OF GORE, and it looks pretty sweet. Firstly, Crispin Glover is great. The man just seems to click with whatever he does. And WIZARD OF GORE is no different, and such an awesome role for Glover.
In case your like me, and haven’t heard of WIZARD OF GORE, here’s the scoop: It’s a remake from Open Sky Entertainement of Herschell Gordon Lewis’ 70’s cult classic. According to the official website, the synopsis is:
“WIZARD OF GORE” is the story of a master illusionist who performs at underground venues, selecting female volunteers from his rave-like audiences. To their hysteria, it appears he’s dismembered their bodies, but his sleight of hand has fooled them. The next day however, female bodies show up dead from the same wounds performed on stage. Investigators are baffled, and the chase to find the killer begins.

The film is directed by Jeremy Kasten, written by Zach Chassler, and produced by Chris Duddy, Glenn Garland, and Dan Griffiths. Other crew include Michael Shelton on visual effects and Steve Porcaro doing the musical score. It stars Kip Pardue, Bijou Phillips (below), Crispin Glover, Joshua Miller, Jeffrey Combs, and Brad Dourif.
Well the news coming in from Fangoria is that Dimension Extreme will be distributing this potential gem. No word yet on when WIZARD OF GORE will be hitting shelves, but hopefully soon. Check out the WIZARD OF GORE official website (which has the trailer for the film), over here.
