Now hours ago, PJ told you all about the future of THE EVIL DEAD REMAKE and EVIL DEAD 4. Well Raimi also dropped some news about various other projects to Bloody Disgusting and Shock Till You Drop that his production company, Ghost House Pictures, is working on.
First up is the curse movie DRAG ME TO HELL. Ghost House Pictures are currently prepping this bad boy with a script from Jeff Lynch, who was second unit director on all three SPIDER-MAN films. Lynch will also be directing. Raimi has described this film in the past as ‘a nonstop low budget, horror picture.’ Besides that though, I couldn’t find anything else on DRAG ME TO HELL.
Raimi also told BD that they’re working on RISE: THE BLOOD HUNTER 2. Ben Ketai penned the script and shooting should be starting up this winter. No word if Lucy Liu (right) or Michael Chiklis will be returning.
The bit of news that interested me above the rest is that Ghost House are currently working on getting a script for MONKEY’S PAW. Now if the title doesn’t say it, the film will obviously be based on the old story about the haunted monkey’s paw that grants horribly tainted wishes. I’ve always been a fan of the tale and it’s been told time and time again. From THE SIMPSONS to TALES FROM THE CRYPT. Now the idea of a movie being made about it, with Sam Raimi producing? That’s some pretty sweet news. According to STYD, the premise is: the story of a father who innocently brings home a mysterious artifact rumored to grant wishes, only to see its magical powers go awry and cause misadventures with every wish his family makes. So I can’t wait for that one.
And lastly, Raimi dropped some news on THE GRUDGE 3. He told BD the following: “There is a writer working on THE GRUDGE right now – he’s working on a screenplay and he’s getting notes from us in about week and going to go back on a second draft… We’re trying to get it done before the writers strike.” Now despite starring the beautiful and sexy Sarah Michelle Gellar (below), I never went out of my way to check out the first two, so I don’t know her fate nor if she’s coming back for the sequel (if she did in fact survive.).
So that’s a whole lot of Raimi news, no? As always, we’ll keep you updated on any other news we hear on any of these projects.

The first two GRUDGE films can’t be THAT bad, considering they starred Sarah Michelle Gellar.
