A couple days ago, Eric told you all about the possibility of a SCREAM 4 coming out. Well folks, that rumor has been pronounced dead.
Bloody-Disgusting is reporting that they have gotten in touch with The Weinsteins, who say the rumor is ‘BOGUS.’ The blog to have posted the story has been since removed. Apparently The Weinsteins said how there was no Weinstein blog and how there isn’t any SCREAM 4 in development. Good or bad?
I loved all 3 SCREAM movies. Some of my favorite horror movies. I think that if it wasn’t for SCREAM, most of the horror genre we’ve grown to love over the past decade wouldn’t exist. SCREAM really rebooted the horror genre in the mid-late ninties. Sure, the two sequels it spawned didn’t even touch the original, but they were still entertaining. So would another sequel really be THAT bad? Most would probably say yes, but I’d give it a chance. Especially if they got the crew back together. Director Wes Craven, screenwriter Kevin Williamson, and stars Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, David Arquette, and Jamie Kennedy. Sure, technically Kennedy’s character died, but he was my favorite character of the series.
Even though I wouldn’t mind seeing SCREAM 4, I think they should keep the franchise at a trilogy, as I’m sure most would agree with. So as of now, SCREAM 4 is dead.
