A couple of days ago PJ told you about how McG is in talks to direct TERMINATOR 4, well he’s still in talks apparently and the news rolling in now is who might be the man putting on the shades and sporting the shiny metal. His name has actually been thrown around a lot lately, and he’s got a decent action resume backing him… yeah, it’s Vin Diesel. I’m not sure how to take this one. I can see the potential.
The plot for TERMINATOR 4 will be: After the drastic effects of Terminator 3, the story continues as John Connor and soon to be wife Kate Brewster realize they must create a resistance organization with Earth’s remaining survivors against the army of robots slowly being built up by Skynet. As they are building this resistance, one survivor happens to be a traitor in disguise, and has a secret that nobody would ever come to suspect. Although as I reported a couple of weeks ago, it’s been said the script would actually not revolve around Brewster and Connor, but around a new character. Plus the film won’t be called TERMINATOR 4, but will drop the number and pick up a spiffy subtitle.
According to AICN, it’s been rumored that “Diesel has been meeting with TERMINATOR 4’s head honchos and that Vin might be one of the Terminators.” I’m not sure if his acting skills could pull it off, but he’s definately got the Terminator image down. At this point I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he’d be a pretty good Terminator. What do you think? Vin is currently also in talks to star opposite Paul Walker (also in talks) in THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS 4, so it’ll be interesting to see which one he chooses (maybe both?).
