Now it seems like TEETH is getting a lot of buzz behind it, apparently being one of the big hits at the Sundance Film Festival this year. According to the official website, the plot reads:
High school student Dawn works hard at suppressing her budding sexuality by being the local chasity group’s most active participant. Her task is made even more difficult by her bad boy stepbrother Brad’s increasingly provocative behavior at home. A stranger to her own body, innocent Dawn discovers she has a toothed vagina when she becomes the object of violence. As she struggles to comprehend her anatomical uniqueness, Dawn experiences both the pitfalls and the power of being a living example of the vagina dentata myth.
Sounds…. original to say the least. Anyway, TEETH has been given good reviews and now has an official release date. Roadside Attractions will be releasing the film in Los Angeles and New York on November 30, then nationwide in mid-December. The film was written and directed by Mitchell Lichtenstein and stars Jess Weixler, John Hensley, Josh Pais, and Hale Appleman. I think it should be noted that Jess Weixler won the Special Dramatic Jury Prize For Acting at Sundance for her performance in TEETH. You can check out the official website here.
