This is the first I’m hearing about PATHOLOGY… and I’m intrigued. Now when I first took a look at it, I immediately thought it seemed like AfterDark Films’ UNREST, but after reading the plot, I see it’s very different. Now it doesn’t seem like anything groundbreaking, but it’s from the dudes behind CRANK, so maybe it’ll be something interesting. PAHTOLOGY follows a group of young medical students who come up with a little game: to see which one of them can fool the others and commit the perfect murder.

Interesting right? I’m interested to see how this one goes about it, whether it’ll be like a slasher film or a thriller. A few new stills have been released for the flick which can be found above and below (along with a couple older ones). Director Marc Schoelermann had this to say:

“This movie is about death, and what it means in reality. So today [on set] is pretty much what it looks like in real life. I believe everybody is somewhat afraid of dying. You have to know that once you die, they cut you open. So this is what we’re trying to capture. The fear basically comes from the psychological games that these people play. But this is what it really looks like.”

Along with Marc Schoelermann directing, Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor wrote the script, they’re the dudes I mentioned earlier who wrote and directed CRANK. Neveldine had this to say:

“What’s great about this film is, in terms of all the gore elements, it’s right on the money. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s NC-17. I know that there’s probably an NC-17 worth of stuff we’ve shot already, between the violence and the sex scenes. The difference is, this movie is smart. The characters are doctors, and they’re figuring out brilliant ways to kill people and to stay above the riff-raff and to not go down the dark spiral. They somehow keep it together. That’s why we say any of us could make this turn.”

The film stars Milo Ventimiglia, Lauren Lee Smith, Michael Weston, Dan Callahan, Johnny Whitworth, Alyssa Milano (below), Keir O’Donnell, John De Lancie, and Larry Drake. It’ll be hitting theaters November 30, 2007.
