“Your freakin’ me out.” Oh it’s so true. Just last week, PJ let you all know that Magnet (the horror offspring of Magnolia Pictures) picked up the distribution rights to SHROOMS here in the US. Well SHROOMS is being released in the UK on November 23, and today Bloody-Disgusting released the first six official stills from the film.
From the looks of it, this is going to be one disturbing flick. According to BD, the plot is as follows: A group of American teens comes Ireland to visit an Irish school friend who takes them on a camping trip in search of the local, fabled magic mushrooms. When the hallucinations start taking hold, the panicked friends are attacked by ghostly creatures; never able to determine if they are experiencing gruesome reality or startling delirium. When one teenager unknowingly eats the dangerous Death’s Head mushroom, the group’s nightmare takes a deeply sinister turn…
SHROOMS stars Lindsey Haun (below), Jack Huston, Max Kasch, Maya Hazen, Alice Greczyn, Don Wycherley, and Sean McGinley. It’s directed by Paddy Breathnach and written by Pearse Elliott. Like I mentioned, it’s being released in the UK on November 23, and should be seeing US distribution sometime in 2008.
