Last Updated on August 2, 2021

There have been so many different home video releases of John Carpenter's 1978 classic HALLOWEEN (watch it HERE), any horror fan who wants to own the movie has probably already had the opportunity to buy multiple copies. But now there's going to be another release, as it has been announced that Best Buy has the exclusive on a 4K steelbook release. As of now, the assumption is that this is the same 4K disc that originally came out in 2018, but with fancy new steelbook packaging.

The special features on that 2018 4K disc were:

– Audio Commentary with Writer/Director John Carpenter and Actor Jamie Lee Curtis

– "The Night She Came Home" Featurette

– "On Location: 25 Years Later" Featurette

– TV Version Footage

– Trailer

– TV Spots

– Radio Spots

Carpenter's HALLOWEEN has the following synopsis:

On a black and unholy Halloween night years ago, little Michael Myers brutally slaughtered his sister in cold blood. But for the last fifteen years, town residents have rested easy, knowing that he was safely locked away in a mental hospital — until tonight. Tonight, Michael returns to the same quiet neighborhood to relive his grisly murder again… and again… and again. For this is a night of evil. Tonight is Halloween!

Carpenter wrote the screenplay with Debra Hill. The film stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Donald Pleasence, Charles Cyphers, P.J.  Soles, Nancy Loomis, Kyle Richards, Brian Andrews, and Nancy Stephens.

The steelbook can be pre-ordered from Best Buy for the price of $19.99. The release date is September 29th.
