Aaron Eckhart confirms there’s no Two-Face in Dark Knight Rises

The DARK KNIGHT RISES updates are coming in fast and furious. First we heard the rumor (since debunked) that Heath Ledger would return in a cameo – in CG form, of course. Then we got the news that this would be Christopher Nolan’s last dance with the Caped Crusader. And now we know who else is not going to be in the film… (One of these days we’ll get word on who is in it.)

Aaron Eckhart, in an interview with MTV, has extinguished any hope that Two-Face would be returning. Of course the character perished in the last film, but that was before Ledger died in real life, nixing the Joker entirely from the equation and leading some to speculate that Harvey Dent might magically come back to continue his villainous ways. But… no.

“Chris and I had a meeting, on the beach, just the two of us,” Eckhart told MTV News. “I said, ‘Chris, a lot of people are asking me if I’m in the next ‘Batman.’ And Chris said, ‘Yes?’ I said, ‘Am I?’ He looked at me and he said, ‘No.’ ”

What the f*ck where Nolan and Eckhart doing on a beach together? Maybe it was for added dramatic effect? Sure sounds like it. “We found ourselves alone on the beach together on a stormy day and he delivered the news to me,” Eckhart explained. “And I was heartbroken. I was heartbroken. But Chris has his reasons and my life must go on.”

In another tiny tidbit of news, it had been rumored that the third BATMAN flick would be shooting in Louisiana, a change from the norm of filming in Chicago. Obviously the only reason would be for tax breaks, as the state is exceptional in that department… That’s been debunked by L.A. Times Hero Complex; the blog, which seems to have Nolan’s ear much of the time, tweeted the following: “The Dark Knight Rises” will NOT be filming in Louisiana and that was never part of plan. It’s a total myth.

Guess Chitown better prepare to put its best Gotham outfit on again.
