Adrien Brody / Sam Neill thriller Backtrack gets a March release

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Writer/director Michael Petroni's BACKTRACK is a project we've been keeping track of for nearly two years now, the most recent update on its progress being the trailer that was released last month. At that time, U.S. distributor Saban Films had yet to announce a release date for the film. We now know when American audiences will be getting their chance to see the Australian production – BACKTRACK is scheduled to reach VOD and a limited number of theatres on March 11, 2016.

Adrien Brody, Sam Neill, and Robin McLeavy star in the psychological thriller, which centers on

troubled psychotherapist Peter Bowers, who is suffering from nightmares and eerie visions. When he uncovers the horrifying secret shared by his patients, he is put on a course that takes him back to the remote hometown he fled years ago. There in False Creek he is consumed by solving a decades-old mystery that holds the key to his strange and menacing delusions.

BACKTRACK's plot has my attention and I liked what the trailer had to show. In less than three months, we'll see how it all plays out.
