Alicia Vikander & James McAvoy take a romantic plunge in Submergence trailer

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Both Danielle Flinders (Alicia Vikander) and James Moore (James McAvoy) are preparing for dangerous missions when they first meet in SUBMERGENCE, with Flinders set to embark on a deep sea diving mission to support her therories about life on Earth and Moore, a British Secret Service agent, about to head to Somalia to track down a source for suicide bombers inflitrating Europe. That chance meeting at a remote hotel in Normandy sparks a passionate romance, but they soon find themselves worlds apart with James taken hostage by Jihadist fighters and Danielle at the bottom of the ocean with no way of knowing whether James is still alive. The Wim Wenders (PARIS, TEXAS) film debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival last year, but unfortunately, reviews have not been kind, with many critics taking issue with its meandering pace, but, as always, the work of James McAvoy and Alicia Vikander was highly praised.

SUBMERGENCE will hit theaters on April 13, 2018 in the U.S. and on May 18, 2018 in the U.K.
