Alien: Covenant prologue shows what happened to Shaw! Spoilers!

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

I need to take a break from today, I swear. The news that has been hitting in rapid succession is almost too much. First, we got news that MTV's SCREAM was going to be rebooted for its third season (that sucks), and then we got the news that M. Night Shyamalan has officially announced SPLIT/UNBREAKABLE 2 (awesome!) and now we have a crazy-cool new prologue from ALIEN COVENANT!

The new prologue answers one of the major questions about the upcoming Ridley Scott-directed ALIEN prequel – will Noomi Rapace aka Elizabeth Shaw be in the film? Turns out, yes, she will be!

The following clip is ten types of cool, but if you like to enter the theater without any knowledge of what is to unfold, then stir clear of this video and the rest of this article.

Okay, now that that's out of the way, yeah, the following video is amazing. I am a huge PROMETHEUS fan and here Fox has decided to share with us – on ALIEN DAY, no less – the connecting piece between PROMETHEUS and ALIEN: COVENANT. Here we hear David narrate what happened after the ship flew off into the clouds at the end of PROMETHEUS. We see Shaw welding (for lack of a better term) David's blonde melon back on his shoulders, we then see them chart their course to the Engineer's homeworld, and David's sketchy ass helping Shaw settle into hypersleep for the long trip.

From there things get biblical.

ALIEN: COVENANT: THE CROSSING synopsis via 20th Century Fox:

The Crossing, an official prologue short to Alien: Covenant, reveals what happened to crew members Dr. Elizabeth Shaw and the synthetic David after the events of Prometheus. Set aboard an abandoned Engineer vessel, Dr. Shaw repairs David as they continue their search for humanity’s creators.

You can check out the full video below and, remember, ALIEN: COVENANT hits May 19th.
