After seeing some short clips, some stills, and quite a few posters, the trailer for LOVELACE has been released. Starring Amanda Seyfriend, Peter Sarsgaard, Hank Azaria, James Franco, Sharon Stone, Juno Temple, and many more, the film tells the story of Linda Boreman who would go on to become Linda Lovelace, the star of the porn film DEEP THROAT.
This could easily have turned into a joke of itself but instead the trailer presents a dramatic film (with humor added courtesy of Hank Azaria) that shows the porn actress as more than just a sexual object and delves into her abusive relationship.
Story of Linda Lovelace, who is used and abused by the porn industry at the behest of her coercive husband, before taking control of her life.
Directed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman (HOWL), LOVELACE actually looks like a well made film about a touchy subject. Going back to when Lindsay Lohan was in contention for the lead role I wasn’t sure how this would turn out, but it looks pretty good.
LOVELACE opens in theaters on August 9th.
