American Horror Story: Double Feature poster spies on kissing creatures

There has been a lot of speculation that the upcoming American Horror Story season American Horror Story: Double Feature would have something to do with mermaids, but if there has been talk about aliens being in the mix I didn't see it. Now a poster has been released for the season… and I'm guessing that the image shown on the poster is of an alien swapping spit and some kind of pill with a sharp-toothed mermaid. Whatever is going on here, it's definitely not an image I ever expected to see. You can check it out for yourself below.

Mermaids/Sirens and Aliens were both on a poll American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy hosted on his Instagram account, where he asked fans what sort of subjects they would like to see covered in future seasons. It seems he had already decided to bring them to the screen in Double Feature before he started the poll.

The cast of American Horror Story: Double Feature includes Sarah Paulson, Macaulay Culkin, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, Adina Porter, Lily Rabe, Angelica Ross, Finn Wittrock, and Kaia Gerber. The season is called Double Feature because it will be telling 

two horrifying stories, one by the sea… the other by the sand.

Murphy has said that Culkin will be playing an "insane part" that involves having "crazy, erotic sex with Kathy Bates". Paulson teased that her character "has some issues" and sports a hair color that has never been on Paulson's head before.

American Horror Story: Double Feature will begin airing on FX on August 25th.
