Director Scott Derrickson (SINISTER, DELIVER US FROM EVIL, DOCTOR STRANGE) has found two more cast members for his TNT television series pilot Snowpiercer, which is based on the 2013 Bong Joon-ho film of the same name.

Adapted for television by writer/showrunner Josh Friedman, the Snowpiercer series is set

seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, and the remnants of humanity inhabit a gigantic, perpetually moving train that circles the globe. It explores class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival.

One of the pilot's new cast additions may be familiar to fans of the horror genre – Annalise Basso (pictured above) of OCULUS and OUIJA: ORIGIN OF EVIL has signed on to play a fourth class passenger named LJ Anderson, "a quiet, diligent, Midwestern girl who lives with her parents and works in the greenhouse car. Poor but not as desperate as those that live in the tail of the train, LJ has made peace with her daily routine until a major event shakes up her world."

Also joining the cast is relative newcomer Sasha Frolova, whose character is described as being "strange, mysterious, and inscrutable, a charismatic chameleon and probably inspired by the expression 'still waters run deep.' She returns to the front of the train after a three-year sentence in the prison car and struggles to acclimate to her old life. You can't take your eyes off of her. And you probably shouldn't." The character also has a cool name to go along with that alluring personality: Pixi Aariak.

Basso and Frolova's co-stars will include Daveed Diggs, Jennifer Connelly, and Mickey Sumner.

Snowpierce is being executive produced by Scott Derrickson, Josh Friedman, Bong Joon-ho, Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios, Park Chan-wook, Lee Tae-hun, and Dooho Choi.
