We told you about SHROOMS last week here at Arrow in the Head, and today we have another update for you. The second trailer for the film has been released, and in my opinion, it’s better than the first. You can check it out below.
Along with this trailer update comes the news of an official website, which I just found doing research. The site is pretty cool too. It offers cast & crew info, the new trailer, a gallery, and “Shroom Muncher.” You can check all that out over at the official website.
The synopsis, according to the official site, is:
When five American students arrive in Ireland to go on a camping trip with their old buddy Jake, they are in high spirits. Jake has promisied them the ‘trip of a lifetime’ because he claims Ireland has the best magic mushrooms in the world with the highest potency! Now that they are tripping, things don’t seem so funny. Bluto, one of the gang, is missing. Tara thinks he’s dead because she feels she has seen his death before, but nobody beleives her, they think she is just wasted. They’re all wasted. As their paranoia grows so does the fear of something out there, something watching them, something that is after their blood and won’t stop till they all get wasted.
Jake (Jack Huston), the instigator of the trip and self-confessed mushroom expert. Tara (Lindsey Haun), is his sometime girlfriend; Troy (Max Kasch), is a would-be martial arts devotee; Holly (Alice Greczyn), is his quirky girlfriend; Bluto (Rob Hoffman), is the Jock of the group, and his girlfriend, Lisa (Maya Hazen), is the resident glamour girl. Together they will embark on a journey that will test not just their friendship but their sanity. Will they get out before they lose more than their sanity?
SHROOMS is directed by Paddy Breathnach and written by Pearse Elliott. It stars Lindsey Haun (below), Jack Huston, Max Kasch, Maya Hazen, Alice Greczyn, Don Wycherley, and Sean McGinley. The second trailer offers more dialogue and a deeper look into the film. Check it out below or at the official website. SHROOMS opens November 23 in the UK and should be seeing a US release sometime in 2008 thanks to Magnolia Films’ Magnet. “Are you ready to get wasted?”
